MEET THE AUTHOR - Kyrisston Fleming

Kyrisston Fleming is a devoted mother of five, a compassionate caregiver of 14 years, and the proud owner of a home care agency in Brunswick, Georgia. Born and raised in McIntosh County, she grew up in a small southern town where helping others became second nature. With a naturally giving spirit and a heart that often stretched further than it should, Kyrisston built her life around caring for people – sometimes at the cost of her own well-being.

Losing her mother at twelve and growing up without the steady presence of her father shaped much of her early life. Those losses left her searching for love, security, and belonging in relationships and situations that often left her hurting. Still, she pressed forward, raising her children, building a career, and pouring into others even when she felt empty herself.

Drowning for Love marks the first time Kyrisston opens her heart publicly. A deeply private person, she uses this book as a place to finally release years of silent pain, unspoken mistakes, and the emotional battles she carried alone. She shares her journey with honesty – from the choices she made trying to feel loved, to the heartbreaks that left her questioning her worth, to the moment she realized she had to choose herself.

Today, Kyrisston is learning to love herself fully, forgive her past, and rebuild her life from the inside out. Her story is a testament to resilience, self-discovery, and the power of choosing healing over hurt. Through her transparency, she invites readers to reflect, release, and rise with her.

Drowning For Love

Drowning for Love is a powerful memoir about a woman who spent years giving everything she had in her search to feel loved, only to discover that real love had to begin within herself.

After losing her mother at a young age and growing up without the support of her father, Kyrisston entered adulthood carrying unhealed wounds and unanswered questions about her own worth. In relationships, she overextended herself, ignored red flags, and sacrificed her peace in hopes of finally being chosen. The result was heartbreak, emotional pain, financial struggles, and moments when life felt overwhelmingly heavy.

With honest reflection and unfiltered truth, she shares the mistakes she made, the consequences she faced, and the toll people pleasing took on her spirit. But this is not just a story about pain. It is about awakening. Through faith, motherhood, self forgiveness, and courage, she learns to set boundaries, to put herself first, and to accept that the love she sought from others must start with God and with herself.

Drowning for Love is a testimony of survival, healing, and finally choosing self worth over approval.
